Counting our Blessings

Went for a drive aroung the Cape Penninsula last night. The foto on the left is about 3 miles from my house, overlooking the south Atlantic ocean. The right is on the other side of the penninsula (about 15 miles from my house) - Simons Town, on the Indian Ocean.

Looked back on my blog posts for the last week or so, and I can see that I've been whinging and whining like a spoilt snot-nosed brat. OK so I have BiPolar. But I've also got so much to be thankful for (in no particular order):

  • A comfortable house
  • A stunning wife who loves me dearly
  • I live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world, 200 yards from a pristine beach
  • A gorgeous daughter who I am very proud of
  • Besides my BiPolar, we're all in good health
  • Mrs M has a good job
  • I have a business with great potential which alows me to work flexible hours from home, and is centred on the internet - a favourite place.
  • We have 2 of the world's greatest dogs and 1 such cat.
  • Our parents and my sister are all in good health
  • We have everything we need materially (even though there's always a wish list)
  • I am a creative person

Which kind of makes me feel a little guilty about all the whinging I've been doing the past week.

It's like the old story of a glass that's got water til halfway up. You can either look at it and say :"Damn, my glass is half empty".
"Or you can say: "Cool, my glass is half full".

Truth be told, my glass is three quarters full (and, perhaps more importantly, it's clean, drinkable water, which is more than half the people on this continent can say).

At your convenience, please visit ESOPHY - http://esophy.com

It is an ezine which I launched last summer for writers and artists. It is non-profit, there is no advertising nor any other commercialism in it.

Go to the 'IntroSite' section where you'll get an idea of the presentation and what is intended for its development as well as navigation information. The first issue's IntroSite - it is now in its third - has a lengthier description of what is sought from writers. When you're on that page a right-click menu becomes effective. "ARCS" will take you to previous issues. In all issues the right-click menu is not effected on the first page and the 'Main' page.

If you think you may be interested in writing something for Esophy then send me a note and we'll take it from there in correspondence and I can also answer any questions you may have.

The next issue is due around March 23, 2006.

Thank you and the best to you and yours.

  2. Those are beautiful pictures. I should have a thankful heart more often as well. You've got a lot of things to be thankful for. :)
